From 1st December 2020 HMRC has published the names of the employers who made furlough claims in banded range.
The employer’s claims will also be made available to their employees through their personal tax accounts. Personal salary details through the CJRS claim will also be made public for sole directors of owner managed businesses.
There will be exemptions from public disclosure for sole traders with employees, company directors, members of an LLP, an employee, a trustee and any individuals living with them, that could potentially come under threat or intimidation. Such exemption will require supporting evidence e.g. video recordings, photos and/or a police incident number.
